Monte Zovo Company

Azienda Agricola Monte Zovo takes its name from the hill on which is perched the modern wine cellar, encircled by the family's vineyards, in the Bardolino DOC area.

In the Caprino Veronese wine cellar, the grapes are fermented for the production of Bardolino DOC and Cà Linverno Rosso IGT Veronese, as well as the white wines Pinot Grigio IGT del Veneto and Lago della Luna Bianco Veronese IGT, while the vineyards for the production of Valpolicella DOC and the modern fruit cellar for drying the grapes are located in Tregnago, in the Val d'Illasi, home to Amarone della Valpolicella DOC, Amarone della Valpolicella DOC "Selezione", Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso and Corvina Rosso IGT Veronese.

Monte Zovo is a brand with a blue attitude, aimed at the hotel and catering sector and high-end retailers. For the Cottini family it is also the benchmark label for the Italian market, and it will soon be distributed directly through the "Monte Zovo Wine Boutiques".

Azienda Agricola Monte Zovo takes its name from the hill on which is perched the modern wine cellar, encircled by the family's vineyards, in the Bardolino Doc area, where the brand's wines are made.

Built using modern techniques yet in harmony with the surrounding environment, the wine cellar is located in Caprino Veronese, around 5 km from Lake Garda, in the magnificent landscape created by the morainic amphitheatre of Rivoli.

The grapes used to make the Monte Zovo wines are grown in two separate parts of the Verona area. In the heart of the Bardolino DOC area, the land purchased by the Cottini family in 1965 is now spread over 50 hectares, located at an altitude of 300 and 450 m.

Palazzo Maffei estate

ospitalita tregnago

An estate with a long history in the heart of the Valpolicella, which once belonged to the best-known of the noble Veronese families, the marquises Maffei, lends its name to a selection of wines from the Cottini family vineyard. Noble and austere in character, these are wines aimed at the sophisticated connoisseur.

Right from the days of the Maffeis, this splendid 45-hectare piece of land, composed of whitish, limestone soil with a substratum rich in clay, has proved both fertile and ideally situated for the production of fine-quality, classy wines. After passing through the hands of various dynasties, the estate was purchased in 2007 by the Cottini family, which in so doing tacitly took a major responsibility upon its shoulders: to pursue the splendid winemaking tradition of one of the most important noble families in Verona's history.

The noble nature of the land and its history have very much left their mark on this selection of wines, which have acquired a more international flavour than those of the Valpolicella Classico area, and tend to be more sweetish, velvety and polished to the taste.
